If you have spent any time on Life of Nine, you know that my husband and I have six boys ranging in age from 12 to 19. Then add in my 8, 4 and 3 year old nephews! That is a lot of boys that we buy for every year!!

All of my boys have their individual likes, dislikes and personalities, but I have come up with some gifts that I pretty much feel could work for any of my boys or their friends because they are just good basic teen boy gifts! And without further ado!!!

  1. Emergency Survival Kit One of the hardest things about having teenage boys is that they are starting to venture further and further away from home. My boys are heading out on their own with their friends (yikes!!) to fish or go hiking. This kit is contained in a small black box that can be slipped into a tackle box or backpack and taken with them when they head out. Plus it comes with a knife, flashlight, pen and a super cool Swiss card (all my boys carry these in their wallets too).

2. Shock Tato Game This game is like the old game of Hot Potato, but when the music stops, you get a shock! To up the ante, you can play on silent mode so you never know when the shock is coming. As a pure boy bonus, the potato can also be used to prank people! As my boys have gotten older, it’s sometimes hard to get them to do group activities. This games is just crazy enough to have them wanting to play!

3. Enclosed Hammock This hammock would be perfect for camping or just chilling in the back yard. As a bonus, it’s enclosed with mosquito netting! Who wouldn’t like this??

4. Gaming Headset A good headset is essential to any boy who likes games. I guarantee 100% this is a gift any teen would love!

5. Nerf Guns They just don’t go out of style. We upgrade and get new ammo every single year. And every single year, the kids are all excited about their Nerf Guns. We have an entire arsenal at this point. Honestly, it’s not like you can have too many because when friends come over… it’s WAR!!!

6. Pogo Stick One thing I have found is that when my kids were younger, being coordinated enough to actually use a Pogo Stick successfully was an issue. This Pogo Stick solves that problem! Made for teens (and adults, too!), this stick is made for stunts and catching some air!

7. Portable Charger These are always, always, always needed. Having a way to charge their phones when they are out is essential.

8. Risk Because, well, world domination! Who doesn’t love a good game of taking over the world? Strategy, geography and a dose of history all wrapped up in this one game. It’s a win all the way around!

9. Mini Fridge Ok. How cool is this?? My boys would flip if they got one of these!! These mini fridges hold six cans and plug into the wall or into a cigarette lighter in the car. Not only do they keep drinks cold, they can also be used to warm things up as well.

10. Novelty Socks  Boys love novelty socks. And these particular one? These are guaranteed to get rave reviews from your teen. I have not met a single teen boy who does not play this game!
